Download the software for students
If your professor is using Tableau as part of a course, he/she can request student licenses on your behalf. The faculty member should visit theTableau for Teaching: Request Course Softwarepage.
To request your own individual student license good for one year, follow these steps:
1. Visithttp://www.tableau.com/academic/students
2. Click the “GET TABLEAU FOR FREE” button in center of page
3. Complete the form by entering:
- Country (United States)
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email (use your @wooster.edu address)
- Birth Date
- ZIP code
- School Name (Wooster will be listed as “TheCollege of Wooster”)
4. ClickVerify and Continue.
5. The software will download to your computer.
6. Once the download is complete, use the .dmg or .exe file to install the software.
Activate the software for students
1. Check your email Inbox for a message from Tableau (SheerID Verification) like this:
